Halloween!

We had a great Halloween this year. We all took the day off from school and from work, spent the morning hanging out at home and then got the boys in costume. We went to my office first, where the boys rounded up a bunch of candy and met my coworkers.

We then went to a party at ELDC--Nate's current and Simon's former daycare--where we saw some of Simon's old friends and got to do fun activities in each room.

And finally, what the boys were really waiting all day for, we went trick or treating! We went to downtown Ballard where all of the stores are open to the kids for trick or treating, and boys had a fantastic time. We even stopped for an impromptu dance party at a store that was playing music ou

Both boys chose their costumes this year, and so, I present, Bumblebee the Transformer and Christopher Robin (from Winnie the Pooh):

Pumpkin carving!

We carved four pumpkins for Halloween. Nate was totally grossed out by the inside, but Simon dug right in. And both loved trying to actually carve the shapes!

Visit from Grandma and Aunt Karyn

We had a great visit from Grandma recently, and Aunt Karyn came up for part of it as well. The boys had a wonderful time, and Grandma came prepped with tons of fun activities and even some awesome surprises for the boys. They did crafts and coloring, took selfies, went to the beach and the playground, had tons of fun with bath beads that grew into all kinds of shapes and on and on. Grandma even did some daycare runs with Nate...it was a great visit! Here are a few of our favorite photos from the visit.

Thanks for a wonderful visit, we all miss you!

Video catch-up

Wow, it's been a while! To start to make up for it, here are three videos of Nate being Nate. Disclaimer: Simon isn't much into being recorded on demand these days, hence the Nate-centric post. But there are lots of Simon pictures to share in upcoming posts!

Nate is a bona fide sports fan, and he has two favorite teams!

Check out Nate climbing like a big boy!

Finally, here he is sharing our collective feelings on a mushroom we found growing in the mulch:
