Nate is developing language skills so fast right now. He understands so much of what we say and is speaking more, as well. Some of his words include old favorites like ball and bubble, but he is adding new ones like basketball, blue and water. He also really loves to say and wave bye-bye to everyone and everything.
He is really sweet at bedtime these days, and likes to come over for a kiss before heading back. Check out how cute he is!

New tricks
Nate is so much fun these days, he is silly and mischievous. He has a couple of new funny things that he has been doing, check out these videos:
First pratfalls! We have no idea where this came from, he just started doing this one day.
He also started hiding and then popping back up with a Boo! the other day, too cute!

A trip to the dentist
Simon had his first real dentist appointment last weekend and he did so well! He listened to the hygienist and dentist and did everything they needed him to do. It didn't hurt that they had Cars playing on a TV on the ceiling!
Ceiling TV!
Waiting patiently
Cleaning time!
He even had a couple of xrays taken
Unfortunately, the dentist said that the enamel on his molars didn't develop correctly, and he has to have 4 cavities filled. She said it was inevitable because they are rough and bumpy when they should be smooth. So...we will be going back two more times to have cavities filled, but the nice part is that Simon is really excited for it!
Here are a few pictures:

Quick video from the zoo
As I mentioned, Nate spent some of the time we spent at the zoo on my back in a carrier. Before we wrapped up and got back in the car, he was giggling when I bounced him in it:

Morning at the Zoo
We took our first spring trip to the Woodland Park Zoo this morning, and it was a lot of fun!
Simon waiting while we bought an annual pass:
Nate ready to go in our Tula carrier.
Checking out the Siamangs
And the orangutans
And then climbing like a monkey!
I bribed Simon to get these pictures...
And we wrapped up with a stop for ice cream, where Simon did a very nice job sharing with Nate.

Simon's class has been practicing going for walks around the neighborhood so they can take longer walking trips this summer. Simon is taking this all very seriously...

Spring!
I'm inevitably jinxing us by talking about the great weather we've been having, but oh well. It's been gorgeous recently, so we have been getting out as much as possible. Here are some of the fun things we've been doing.
First, we've just been spending more time outside at home.
We planted some radishes and peas, just for fun, and both boys are enjoying gardening a bit:
Yesterday, we went to Golden Gardens where Simon climbed up really high on the rope climber and Nate chased his ball around, like usual. We also checked out the beach.
And today we headed to GasWorks Park, where we enjoyed the view and had someone take a 75% successful family photo.
And finally, we got cupcakes, the perfect end to a sunny day outside.
