Low tide

Matt has been waiting for this day for a couple of weeks--a really low tide at Carkeek Beach. He took the boys over this morning and they were able to check out starfish, crabs, sea anemones, sea cucumbers and a skate, all in the tide pools. Check it out!

Simon catch-up

A couple of quick Simon videos!

Ummm...this worries me. But Simon is apparently a natural at driving!

Simon has discovered a great new use for my makeup mirror...it's now a Bat computer!

Visitors

We had visitors last Sunday and Monday--Matt's good friend from high school, Jackie, and her wife Chelsea came to stay for a night. We took them to the Locks and the boys thought they were very fun new friends, particularly when Jackie introduced them to wheelbarrows! Thanks for the visit, the sweet gifts for the boys and for giving us a break from playing board games by ourselves all the time!

Afternoon at Alki

We went to a new beach today, Alki Beach in West Seattle. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed walking along the water, looking for cool rocks, seaglass and shells.

Here is Nate waxing poetic about wearing shorts and collecting rocks.

And this evening, we watched game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals. The boys are getting into it!

Finally...after bath, Nate has started to want to cuddle me in the chair rather than vice versa!

Graduation!

Today was a big day...it was Simon's graduation day from ELDC! While we are sending him to a year of Pre-K at a new school before starting kindergarten, he is still leaving ELDC soon, the daycare/preschool that he's been in since he was 14 months old. They organized a wonderful performance and ceremony, plus a video montage of all of the kids. They also gave each of us a laminated collage of our child's photos and all of the teachers wrote a personal message to each child on the back. It was a really wonderful event!

I will post the actual performance when I get the high quality video, but here are some pictures as well as a video of Simon walking and getting his diploma!
