Summer is finally really underway, and we are doing everything we can to get out and enjoy it.
As we have done for the past few years, we are spending a lot of time at the wading pools. Both boys love hanging out there, it's a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.
We recently had a fun playdate with a few of Nate's friends from school at a nearby park, they were really cute together! And one of the little ones had an older brother that used to be in Simon's class, so they were happy to be able to play together rather than with the toddlers.
This past weekend, we got out for two fun events just outside of the city.
One Saturday, we went to A Day out with Thomas. The boys were pretty excited to take a ride on the "real" Thomas the Train!
And on Sunday, we went out to a farm that grows a ton of lavender and spent the afternoon playing! We saw a demo of how they distill lavender oil, fed some goats, climbed on some ropes, went on a hayride, ran through mazes and generally had a fun time!
Both boys were really into the hayride and the man who drove the tractor...they had LOTS of questions for him!

Visit from Grandma
Grandma came to visit for a few days last weekend, and we packed a ton of fun activities in!
On Saturday morning, we went to the Greenwood Car Show, right down the street from us. The boys loved seeing all of the cars, playing in the Kid Zone and gathering up giveaways like hats and frisbees.
Before dinner out at CPK, we went to the first of Simon's new swimming lessons--he is starting to take weekly, individual lessons for just 15 minutes, which is apparently a pretty successful method of teaching kids around this age to learn to swim. He's gone twice now, and seems to love it!
On Sunday we went to the zoo, and Simon got his face painted with a monkey, and Nate modeled a hat that he got from the car show, but refused to wear it any way but sideways.
We finished up the weekend with haircuts on Sunday evening, and then Mom came to check out my office and meet some of my friends at work on Monday morning. She then headed down to see Karyn and Fernando in Portland.
It was a fun few days, the boys loved waking her up and jumping all over her and of course appreciated their gifts.. thanks for the great visit, Grandma!!

Video Catch-Up
Four videos taken today...
First, Nate serenades us with his One Balloon song that he learned at school.
Another school song, one that both boys know, is the one they sing when getting ready for a meal or snack. Larry makes all the food at ELDC, so that who they thank at the end!
Big news...Simon has his first chore! He is now responsible for feeding Leia--and every time he does it without us asking he gets a star on his chart. He is VERY excited to have a responsibility around the house!
Finally, Nate was also busy in the kitchen, but I have no clue what he was doing. Regardless, it was pretty cute.
