Pose!
Matt was recently taking some pictures of me so I could decide if I liked a particular outfit. Nate watched for a bit and then wanted to be a part of it! Check out the series:

Random
Just some random odds and ends to share...
The boys were so sweet on Valentine's Day...
And they had yummy pink chocolate chip pancakes that I managed to pull off!
Nate was too cute in his Winnie hoodie for Spirit Week at school.

SKATEBOARD
Nate is completely, totally obsessed with skateboards. We have no idea where this came from, but it's all he talks about and plays with. He has maybe 10 small "fingerboard" toy skateboards and got a cool skatepark set for Christmas that he loves.
So...as we are complete suckers, we got him a real skateboard. And the answer to everyone's first question is NO. He cannot and is not allowed to ride it standing up without one of us holding both of his hands. He mostly uses it to roll around sitting or lying down and it goes everywhere with him. He even uses it as a tray to eat when he has a snack on the couch. And this past weekend, he took it even a little further.
A few more images of the boy and his skateboard:

ROBOT
Simon's obsession with robots is as strong as ever.
His school recently hosted an Art Gala. All of the classrooms focused on one element of art--line, color, form, texture...Simon's class focused on form and they all made very intricate masks. His was an awesome robot head, check it out!
His class also worked together to make this cool Space Needle--each child had his/her own color fingerprints!

And at home, robots are everywhere as usual. Simon loves to pretend to be a transformer/robot type of creature pretty often:
And this might be the sweetest thing ever. Simon had a good friend named Benjamin that he used to go to daycare with. Benjamin moved away to NJ a couple of years ago, but Simon still talks about him regularly. Last fall, he asked if he could write Benjamin a letter, so I found his mom's email, wrote and asked for their address. She said Benjamin still talked about Simon too, and that he would love to be penpals! So we started by sending him a card that Simon dictated to me, and right before Christmas, we got an awesome card back from Benjamin, with a cool Frozen drawing that he had done inside!
Simon spent a lot of time thinking about what he wanted to send back, and finally decided on a Lego robot. He built this one below, and then I took each piece apart and hot glued it together, with his blessing, so it could travel more safely. We added a card and the package went out today!

Video Catch Up
It's been a while, so here are a few random videos from the last few weeks:
Nate was VERY excited about a visit from Aunt Karyn and Uncle Fernando on Super Bowl weekend:
Speaking of a side eye...
Both boys showed off their awesome moves after bath one night. Nate is playing Batman here while performing frozen magic like Elsa while Simon is a robot/transformer, of course.
And speaking of Frozen...

Weekends
We have had a very mild 2015, with temperatures often getting up to the mid 50s. We have been getting out as much as we can--here are some of the things we have been up to this past few weeks:
Simon and his friend Finn got together at a cool park recently for a play date. They were super cute together, and would lie on their stomachs to chat while waiting their turn for the zip line. Simon also got a chance to show off his climbing skills...it's time for a rock wall soon!
We took a ferry ride over to Bainbridge Island a couple of weeks ago. The boys LOVED the boat, and spent both trips up front running around in the wind. Over on the island, we checked out a very cool playground, blew some bubbles and ate ice cream while walking around the cute little downtown area.

Sea-HAWKS!
While I'm not lucky enough to be heading to the Super Bowl again this year, our Seattle Seahawks ARE!! And we have really gotten into following them this season, Nate in particular.
He likes to wear either his own Russell Wilson jersey or my Marshawn Lynch jersey and then only respond to their names. Here are a couple of videos with him as Beast Mode (Lynch).
During the Packers game, he really seemed to be watching and getting into it!
Simon, on the other hand, was a little less interested, and spent the game building a robot army that I suspect may try and take over planet Earth.
Pete Carroll!
Hauschka came by...and no, he's not that short.
Richard Sherman
Russell Wilson...well, his back at least!

(in case you were wondering, this is a set of 10 mini-bots that can either work separately or combine into one megabot. of course.)
Meanwhile, my workplace has been VERY into the games, with lots of team spirit on "Blue Fridays".
I did get the chance to go to the last regular season game in late December, with a few colleagues. We even got to go out on the field and watch warm-ups from the sideline!
Walking through the tunnel to the field.
