Parade!

The annual Greenwood Seafair Parade was this past Wednesday, and we marched with ELDC for the third year. Nate rode along in the wagon while Simon walked and even got to carry the school's bubble machine for a while!

After the kids' part was over, we watched some of the rest of the real parade. The boys loved it! They waved at the floats and danced to the bands. Check out the video below...and keep an eye out for Simon busting a move!

Busy Saturday

Another busy day today...Matt took the boys to the park this morning and I slept in, then we ran some errands later in the morning. Matt and Nate napped midday while Simon and I went shopping for Matt's birthday present. Then, this afternoon, we went to a nearby splash park, which was fun. Here are some cute pictures:

Later in the afternoon, Simon played with his toy car that he can take apart and put back together with tools, and Nate did some puzzles. Check Nate out, taking on two at once:

A few pictures

I just wanted to share a few recent pictures...

We got a beautiful new carrier and Nate was as happy as ever going for a ride.

The boys being cute before bedtime.

Nate making sure to protect himself from the sun AND any unexpected head bonks.

Simon picking up the lifeguard at the wading pool...notice the crossed legs, he really made himself comfortable!

Visit from Grandpa

Grandpa came out to visit us over the 4th of July holiday, and we had so much fun doing tons of different things.

First, on Saturday morning, we loaded the boys into the wagon and Grandpa hauled them down to the annual Greenwood Car Show, right by our house. Simon was particularly into it, since he loves all things car-related. But both boys had fun!

Saturday afternoon we hit the wading pool for the first time this summer, it was hot out! Both boys really had fun, Nate got right in the water and played around, and of course Simon loved it. He even "helped" the lifeguard with her tasks. We also ran into a bunch of friends from ELDC who all happened to be there at the same time too!

On Sunday we spent some time home in the morning, Nate shots some hoops and the boys looked at pictures on Grandpa's iPad.

During naptime, Matt and Dad took Simon to the movies to see Monsters University, and he loved it!

That afternoon we played in the backyard, with our new kiddie pool, sprinkler and water toys.

We had to go to work and school that Monday-Wednesday, so Grandpa went up to the San Juan islands for a few days, and then came back for the 4th. We decided to picnic at the park for the holiday, and I indulged myself by dressing the boys alike for the first time.

Thanks for a great visit, Grandpa!!

More Nate videos

Nate is in a pretty ridiculously cute phase right now, here are a couple more recent videos:

We found out the other day that he gets very excited when you blow up a balloon and then let it go...

And on the 4th, he learned to do the stomp rocket. This was a really popular toy, we had lots of kids come over to play, including a sweet girl named Rosanna, who was playing with Nate here.

Wombat Room

Simon just moved up to the Wombat Room at school, he is now a big man on campus! He is so excited, he came home today and told me he had a "Great Day!!". His new teachers agreed, we got a note today that said:

"Guys,

Simon's day was absolutely flawless, even w/ Glorie taking an extended planning time!

-Chris"

We think this is going to be a great move for him, there is more structure and more of a preschool curriculum. He even came home with homework today, it was so sweet helping him and seeing him so excited. Check it out:

Cowboy Simon

Every year, Simon and Nate's school brings in a pony for Pony Pictures. This year Simon was excited to get in costume and mount up!
