The hint:
And here is he where Simon found him, taking a nap in his sleepsack under the tree. He was promptly dubbed Kennedy, or Kenny for short.
Even though our elf is from a different maker, we are loosely following the Elf on the Shelf story, which says that Santa sends elves to live with boys and girls and make sure they are being good. The way it's working here is that he sleeps all day, then we leave him a snack at bedtime, and he's awake all night. In the morning, we will wake up to find him doing something funny or silly. Tomorrow morning we will wake up to Kenny playing Simon's guitar and snacking on a candy cane:
So far Simon seems somewhat interested...I think he'll like seeing all the different things Kenny will do each day. We have explained that he's like the Toy Story toys (which is Simon's latest movie obsession), which gives us a good reason why he doesn't move around in front of us.
Welcome to the family, Kenny!
